STREAM Club Director, Instructional Coach, Curriculum Interventionist
Lori grew up near Coyle, Oklahoma, on a small farm that she still owns and operates today. She has three children. Her eldest, Lance, lives in Edmond with his wife Sarah and their three children, Mason, Hadleigh, and Harper; Kyle, resides in Tulsa with his wife Sarah (yes, two Sarahs) and their daughter Kennedy; and daughter, Chandler, who lives in Perkins. Her father was a farmer and carpenter while her mother was a teacher like her grandfather before her; she had several other family members that were teachers as well. Growing up in a family of educators made her decision to major in education an easy choice. After graduating college in 1994, with a B.A. in Language Education, she took a job with Drumright Public Schools as a high school language arts/newspaper teacher. Five years later, Cushing Public Schools offered her a teaching position and she started making the 20 mile round trip drive, daily. Thirteen years at CHS made it home; however, after completing her Educational Administration degree from SWOSU in 2013, she was eager to take the job of high school principal in Mangum. She stayed at MHS one year when Woodward Public Schools offered her a job as an assistant principal. This job was closer to family, at the time, and presented her experience in on a much larger scale. After three years as an assistant principal, she was provided the opportunity to act as an instructional coach and curriculum interventionist. While this has been a continually great experience, she recently added “Director of the STREAM Club After-School Program” to her list of job titles. She love being a part of the Woodward community and the WPS family.
